1 Intended Use
1.1 Intended Usage
MPMS is intended to be a tool to support decision-making and managing patient information in dentistry treatments.
1.2 Intended User
MPMS is intended to be used by licensed dentists, licensed dental hygienists, dental practitioners and other practitioners assisting the caregiver.
1.2.1 Skill Requirements
Before using MPMS, everyone, regardless of professional experience, is offered to undergo a user training of the system.
Moreover, the user must have knowledge of the following Swedish regulations:
- Patient Data Act 2008:355 (”PdL”)
- Archives Act 1990:782
- Public Law and Privacy Act 2009:400
- The National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations and general advice (t.ex. SOSFS 2008:14)
- The Patient Act and the Patient Safety Act 2010:659
- The law on professional activities in the field of health care 1998:531 (“LYHS”)
MPMS currently mainly presents information in Swedish. Thus the user of MPMS should also possess sufficient Swedish language skills and industry terminology.
1.2.2 Other
MPMS lacks support functions for hearing and visual impairment. The user decides for himself to what extent the system is used on the basis of personal ability.
1.3 Intended Use Environment
MPMS is intended to be used in controlled forms at the caregiver's "workplace". Workplace is defined according to where the patient treatment takes place, thus where the clinical activity and the user are active. Use outside the workplace may occur but is not recommended.
1.4 Intended Patient Target Group
MPMS is applicable to all types of dentistry patients. The intended purpose of the product is e.g. applicable regardless of age, gender, weight and health condition. Muntra does not apply any limitations to patient target group.
1.5 System requirements
1.5.1 Software
- Windows 7/8/10. The user should always strive to use the latest available version (not beta / development / early access / versions).
- OS X 10.8/ OS X 10.9/ OS X 10.10/ OS X 10.11/ macOS 10.12/ macOS 10.13. The user should always strive to use the latest available version (not beta / development / early access / versions).
- MPMS is intended to be used on Google Chrome. However, MPMS is compatible with the following browsers; Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge. The user should always strive to use the latest available version (not beta / development / early access / versions).
Browsers often offer the option to install extensions, so-called plugins. These have many different purposes and can, for example, work to prevent windows / pages from opening automatically or to block ads. MPMS functionality and performance cannot be tested in combination with all possible variants of these. Therefore, MPMS is not intended to be used in conjunction with additional features in the browser.
- Muntra installation file
1.5.2 Hardware
- Intel Core i5 or better,
- 4 GB RAM or higher,
- Display 23-24" with resolution 1920-1080. For optimum experience, a higher-quality display is recommended with a so-called IPS, PVA panel type instead of TN. The larger and better the screen, the better the user experience.
1.5.3 Internet Connection
- MPMS communicates over the Internet. It therefore demands that network equipment and firewall work properly. The user should also ensure that these are of good quality and are adapted for professional use.
The quality of an Internet connection is affected by the number of simultaneous users. Below are recommendations regarding the subject.
1-4> users, 5/5 Mbit or better
5-10> users, 10/10 Mbit or better
<10 or more users<, 100/50 Mbit or better
- Wireless networking is less reliable than wired connection. MPMS is intended to be used with a fixed connection.
- MPMS is not intended to be used at the same time as other bandwidth-intensive services. Examples of bandwidth-intensive services are online games, streaming of music and movies, and downloading or uploading of files (in other systems than MPMS).
1.6 Responsibility and Authority of Users
Each user account is personal and linked to a specific personal ID. The user account must not be shared or used in any way by several employees / persons simultaneously or separately.
Different types of users have different rights and obligations that are regulated by the Swedish Patient Data Act and the National Board of Health and Welfare regulations and general advice.
(Clarification on account structure and types of users) The system distinguishes between organization and clinic because an organization can own several clinics. Each clinic in turn has a number of users connected to the clinic. There are different types of users and the system differentiates and categorizes the user based on dentists, dental hygienists and other "users". For example, users can be a dental nurse or other person working with administration in the clinic and through their work therefore need access to the system.
Muntra recommends that every organization has a documented process and routine that facilitates journal entry regarding how to write, time for writing and with good systems and structures for journal entries.
The highest decision-making staff at the clinic (unless otherwise stated) is responsible for the proper registration of the clinic's employees. The staff is also responsible for unauthorized persons not being able to access more patient information than is necessary to carry out their duties.
It is the responsibility of all employees to comply and ensure that requirements such as regulatory and statutory requirements are met (Chapter 2, Section 5, LYHS). Each individual user is ultimately responsible for his/her private account and how it is used.
It is incumbent on the clinic to obtain patient approval to store patient data, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.
1.7 Other
The care provider is always responsible for verifying the patient's identity for treatment and for checking that the personal data in the system is correct.
